Haggards Crowther is a member firm of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (“ICAEW”) and Tim Haggard and Andrew Haggard are members of the ICAEW individually. Peter Crowther is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (“CIOT”), and an associate member of ICAEW.
The ICAEW is the world-class professional accountancy body that regulates the profession, providing leadership and practical support to over 130,000 members in 160 countries. Guidance to its members is based on the highest ethical and technical standards.
A key element of what the ICAEW does is to protect the public. It does this by ensuring that its members maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and competence. All its member firms are required to have professional indemnity insurance, and there is a complaints procedure to help you resolve any issues you may have with the services of a member firm.
The CIOT is the UK’s leading professional body in taxation. Its primary purpose is to promote the practice of taxation, and its 14,300 members have the practicing title of ‘Chartered Tax Adviser’. The Institute was established in 1930 and received its Royal Charter in 1994. It enjoys a high international standing in taxation affairs and is a UK member body on the Confédération Fiscale Européenne (CFE), the umbrella body for 150,000 tax advisers in Europe.
